How many local college students people regularly look up recent news in Providence, RI? How about just from today? Did anyone under the age of 30 know about the recent debate between the two candidates for governor? How about the recent stabbing attempt that took place at the city mall? Or the current WaterFire collaboration with FirstWorks, The Avenue Concept and the City of Providence in order to attract more attention and draw in families to the down town area for the holiday season? If, like me, you pay attention to the current state of affairs in Providence then hopefully this blog with be nothing more than an extra tool in your belt of knowledge and information. However, if you are not regularly checking out our local news stations, papers and local websites then there is no need to fret; I will be your guide to the informative side of our big little city.  

At the risk of sounding pompous and having 25 years under my belt, I have easily met more people globally than the average American college male. I grew up in several different countries until making my way over to the states in 2011 for high school and continued higher education here in 2015, so that clearly makes me the best person for this blog. In all honesty and transparency, I don’t think I am the best person for this blog. I think I might say things that could be controversial, but I am willing to say them regardless. Now this is not to say Im willing to say anything inappropriate, I am just willing to give my opinion of what I think should matter to college students in the 21st century. I have never posted on any type of blog before so I understand that my credibility and trust is slime/none at the moment with all of you. However, I will hopefully gain that trust and build up to the reliable source I know I can be. 

Growing up overseas has given me the chance to view the world through a very specific  lens. It has allowed me to interact and connect with people even if we might not have any common ground, and this blog allows me to reach an audience that I think is out there. So come with me on this journey down the rabbit hole as I explore the important issues every college student needs to know! I am Dominic Weir, and welcome to MY blog.
